The nursing program at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ trains students in the skills required for nursing and develops students’ abilities to think critically, analyze complex situations, make sound clinical decisions and deliver safe nursing care in the heart of downtown Chicago. The BSN is a three-year direct entry bachelor's degree program designed to effectively teach students the required skills and knowledge to become Registered Nurses [RNs]. DIRECT ENTRY

Students apply directly to the accelerated nursing program and, if accepted, enroll in the first-year nursing cohort. You’ll begin nursing courses in your first semester and don’t have to reapply. If you meet acceptance criteria but are placed on the wait list, you’ll be offered admission as seats become available.  

The program will evaluate your application holistically, with an emphasis on your academic achievement in high school course work. Successful candidates show preparation for the nursing curriculum with:

  • 12 academic units in English, math, laboratory science and social science.
  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative unweighted grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.
  • Either an SAT score of 1200, or an ACT score of 23 are recommended. Students who have achieved scores below these are welcome to apply.
  • Student activities demonstrating leadership, teamwork and/or a commitment to community service.

Nursing applicants should have a strong preparation in the sciences:

  • Minimum one year each of biology, chemistry, algebra and geometry.
  • Highly recommended: three years of high school math and a science course in your senior year.
