Personal Academic Advising

Take the guesswork out of choosing your classes. Each semester, you meet one-on-one with your academic advisor to plan your schedule. Academic advisors get to know you and your goals as you map your educational plans.

You’ll have help every step of the way until you cross the stage at graduation.

Guidance for STEM Majors

Hear from someone who’s been there, done that at Roosevelt. Dozens of peer mentors, tutors and success coaches are here to help you stay balanced throughout your time at the University.

Tutors can offer support on class assignments and upcoming exams. You can also master time management, study skills and strategies for coping with stress.

Make your first friends at Roosevelt in your first-year or transfer success seminars. All new students take the class to get connected to campus resources and each other.

In your success course, you’ll learn how to stay motivated, manage your finances and build confidence in class discussions.

Find your people through the Office of Engagement, Equity and Inclusion. Join one of Roosevelt’s 50+ student organizations — or start your own. Bond with students who share your interests and join a larger community. You can also gain leadership experience through clubs or Student Government Association.

The office also hosts events around the city. You can take a painting class, hear from inspiring speakers and explore downtown Chicago.

Maybe you’ll analyze data for the Field Museum. Or earn credit for an internship. Or draft a marketing campaign for a community organization.

When you apply for jobs, you’ll have a wealth of experience on your resume. About 88% of students agreed that their experiential classes would be valuable for their future plans.
