The Pharmacy Program at Ƶ College of Science, Health, and Pharmacy consists of scientists with expertise related to drug development, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and epidemiology. Both academic and clinical faculty utilize their expertise in research endeavors, ranging from basic biologic and chemical assessment of novel compounds to clinical evaluation of drugs on specific populations. In the Pharmacy program, students are allowed to pursue mentored research with one of the faculty experts during their Year 2 Term 5 and often have the ability to continue their research throughout the program to completion. The Pharmacy Program also hosts the Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences which facilitates students’ ability to pursue a laboratory-based research thesis, and has also been utilized as a dual-degree PharmD/MSPS program to engage pharmacy candidates in advanced research throughout the program. While there is not an overarching research focus in the Pharmacy Program, principal investigators at RU CSHP are highly innovative and collaborative, which has led to many interdisciplinary research programs and high-end publications that have included undergraduate and graduate student authors.
