About Me

Dr. Mary Hornick is an Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ College of Science, Health & Pharmacy. She teaches courses in Pathophysiology and Clinical Microbiology & Immunology along with the electives 'Medicine or Menace: Introduction to Psychedelics' and Research in Neuropharmacognosy.

Dr. Hornick serves on a number of college committees (Pharmacy Curriculum Committee - Chair, Assessment Committee, Foundational Sciences Committee, Progression & Graduation Committee, CHSP Curriculum Committee). She also serves as the College of Pharmacy representative for the RU Student Learning Assessment Committee and the RU Institutional Review Board.

Additionally, Dr. Hornick is highly involved and interested in neuropharmacological research, focusing on the endothelin and endocannabinoid systems and their involvement neuronal development and neurovascular repair mechanisms. Her research also extends to mental health disorders and the potential of psychedelics as therapeutic agents.
