Dr. Asghar Sabbaghi is the Alyce DeCosta and Walter E. Heller Professor of Finance and Information Systems at Heller College of Business. He has served as the Dean of Heller College of Business during 2017-19. Prior to joining ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ, he has been the Dean and professor at the Graham School of Management, Saint Xavier University, for three years 2014 till 2017. Prior to that, he has been with Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics at Indiana University South Bend, for over thirty years as a faculty, the chair of Decision Sciences, associate dean, and interim dean. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Indiana University, and Post-Doctorate Certificates from the Management Development Program at Harvard University, Advanced MIS Faculty Development Institute at Kelly School of Business at Indiana University, and MIS Faculty Development Institute at the University of Minnesota. His teaching is in the areas of managerial decision making models, production/operations management, and Management Information Systems (MIS). His research is in the areas of scarce resource planning, green supply chain management, and economics of water resource management, business analytics and decision support systems, and economics of Information technology. His research has appeared in national and international academic publications and research books. The second edition of his co-authored book entitled: Economics of Water Resources Management: From regulation to Privatization, was published in 1998, and has been translated into Chinese in 2010,. He has reviewed MIS and Operation Management textbooks, articles for several journals including MIS Quarterly, served as senior editorial Board/Reviewer for the Journal of Information Education (JISE), Journal of Economics and Finance and Journal of Microcomputer System Management as well as a paper referee for professional organizations in Decision sciences and MIS areas. He is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, Beta Gamma Sigma, and a number of other professional organizations.
